In the beginning, we said if we could affect the life of one girl, it would be worth it.

In the early 2000s, our hearts broke after learning that children were being bought and sold for sex around the world. Compelled by compassion, we began to seek ways to be a part of the solution.

After conducting extensive research and studying the global situation, we identified the countries that required significant assistance but were being neglected.

We focused on Indonesia, where child trafficking between islands thrives amidst law enforcement challenges.

Trafficking in persons is a large and complex issue. The term can refer to a number of crimes and violations both domestic and international. For most governing bodies, human trafficking is divided into three main categories: labor trafficking, sex trafficking, and organ trafficking. All three categories use similar methods of trapping and coercing victims.

Knowledge is power in any society's fight against human trafficking. Educating yourself and your community about what it is - and isn't - is a great first step in standing up to trafficking. Learn about this complex issue and help bring more awareness to your community.

It takes a community to stand up to human trafficking, so be proactive and be ready.
